Meet Maggie
Maggie Nail
(they/them)
Durham & Chapel Hill Offices and Virtual Appointments
We are a good fit if… you want are ready to learn real tools to tackle chronic emotional patterns, confusing interpersonal conflicts, and build a live you are happy to live.
My ideal Client is… an adolescent, teen, young adult, or parent with a variety of struggles — relational conflicts, addiction, suicidal ideation, self harm, depression, trauma. My ideal clients are searching for strategies to manage the big emotions they face, or the big emotions they face in relationships, or with their family. My clients leave empowered knowing they have researched based tools to help make the next day even better.
I Create Safety and Rapport by… meeting you with authencity – I bring my real self to work (no alter egos here!). I will respond to you as a human first while employing my training and skills to keep us on track and make progress. I pay attention to what feels supportive, what doesn’t, and consisently check in to collaborate with you.
I am explicitly LGBTQIA+ affirming, health at every size (HAES) oriented, and engage in anti-racist practice. All people are welcome with me.
Three things I love…
1. Percy and Bobo. My two cats — one is tiny and feisty, the other is a giant baby. I’ll let you guess which one’s which.
2. Time in nature. I’m always planning a hike and get excited to look at all the lichen, mushrooms, bugs, and animals.
3. Good food. My partner and I are always working on new recipes but we usually end up topping everything with lots of parmesan.
Credentials
Maggie has worked with adolescents, families, and adults in their homes, hospitals, and behavioral health urgent cares for 6+ years. They are dually licensed as a clinical social worker associate and addiction specialist associate.
