We are a good fit if… You are tired of going in circles trying to ‘figure it all out’, facing the challenges of disordered eating and body image concerns, wanting to process parenting (especially parenting a special/high needs child), want to resolve trauma and attachment whether that is from a single event or from relational attachments, or if you are facing a chronic illness/pain.
My ideal Client is… A person who is ready to explore the ins and outs of their relationships with others and themselves. Clients who value long term therapy over short term solution focused sessions are my cup of tea. I value getting into the nitty gritty and working with clients to create big deep soulful change. Clients who are ready to be challenged – I keep it real and will call on you, while also deeply supporting you. Let’s get into this journey and create change in a safe and supportive environment!
I Create Safety and Rapport by… Showing up to work curious and engaged, ready to welcome clients in their complexities and diversity. I listen to and trust my clients as the expert in their lives, while welcoming feedback to my support along the way. I’m sensitive to the client’s physical comfort as well as the emotional comfort during the session. Therapy is a relationship first and foremost; it’s just a very specific type of relationship. I try to remember that we are simply two people in a room talking, one who is sharing, and the other who has read a lot of books, gone to lots of training, and had a lot of supervision in attempt to support the person sharing. I practice unconditional positive regard for my client and myself.
Three things I love…
- Chocoate. Dark Chocolate in particular (white chocolate is not chocolate!)
- My goldendoodle who happens to be all black – Ms. Mabel (named after my great aunt Mabel who was super kind to me). You can catch her on ICC’s instagram page!
- Being with my daughter and partner, especially when we are all together way out the mountains exploring and playing in nature.
